I started a little business when I was 22 years old. It was an online health and fitness platform called Fitness 101, and it attracted a lot of visitors every single month.

In 2013 I sold part of it to CHROME Supplements. Then I ran it into the ground, and in 2015 I sold them the rest, and they absorbed everything into their business, because I didn't know how to run that business.
“I felt like such a failure.”
You have this idea that you're going to start a business and be successful, and that's just the path. That there aren't going to be mistakes. That if you're not growing, you're a failure.
So I went to work at CHROME as their marketing director, and we grew it from R30 million to R100 million. But I didn't have shares in that business.

In 2018 I resigned to give it a shot again. I walked out of that meeting pale. I told my team I didn't feel well, went home, vomited, and lay on my bed for two hours before I could get up. That's how much fear I had.
That's where V8 Media started. I know what it feels like to put everything into a business and not know if it will work. Every business owner who fills in our form is in that same spot, and we never forget it.
